Do you have some amazing, unusual or funny talent that you’d like to share with Monarch?  If so, please return the following form to Mrs. Gregory (R.210 or kagregor@greenville.k12.sc.us) by January 31st.

This event is for all Monarch K4 - 5th grade girls and their fathers (or a positive male figure in their lives- uncle, grandfather, or friend).
We will have a DJ, photographer, door prizes and more!

  

Six Flags Reading Program

It's that time again, just read 6 hours (360 minutes) and earn your FREE child's admission to Six Flags in GA. Forms must be turned in to your teacher by Friday, February 21st.  Free admission tickets can be used in the summer months as the tickets do not arrive until the end of May, right before we leave for summer break. Valid dates of admission will be listed on the back of the ticket.

REEDY RIVER RUN

It's time again to get REEDY!  Yes, Monarch Marathoners are gettingREEDY!  The Greenville Reedy River Run is coming up Fri. Feb. 28 & Sat. March 1st! 

Monarch has a chance to earn PRIZE money for race registrations! There are races for kids ages 3-14 on Friday, Feb. 28 and a 5K or 10K race for any age (or ability!) on Saturday, March 1st.  $1250 will be given to the school with the MOST registrations (Kids Fun Run not included) OR the highest percentage of registrations based on the school enrollment.  What a great opportunity for families to get healthy and run a race together!  Monarch's running club will be running too!  Downtown Greenville is a spectacular venue for this race.  Plenty of time for a "couch to 5K" program! (great training plans & tips HERE - even for 1st timers)

Register ASAP with the attached form!  All Registrations DUE Mon. 2/17/14.  You can turn in registrations to your child's teacher. Be sure to share this opportunity with friends, family, neighbors, and all your running buddies!  ANYONE can register for this race through Monarch Elementary and save LOTS of money. All race registrations are only $14 (versus $30+ for 5K & 10K)!!  Time to get REEDY and healthy!

Monapalooza and Silent Auction

Please mark your calendars for Monapalooza and Silent Auction on April 4th!

The next competition will be a grade level competition.  Please submit your boxtops in a bag labeled with your name and your teacher's name.  Deadline is February 21st.

Sportsclub is proud to be an Official Partner of Health and Wellness for Monarch Elementary School. Parents, Teachers and Staff can now access Sportsclub’s state of the art equipment and world class group fitness program at an affordable rate while their visits to the club raise funds that go directly back to the school. In addition to a reduced rate on our Lifestyle Membership, Sportsclub will donate $5 to MonarchElementary School for every new membership started and donate 75 cents per visit (up to $200/month) back to the school. Read an informational packet about the Science Fair experience. Projects may be done on a display board or a file folder.

SCIENCE FAIR INFORMATION Science Fair projects are optional for 3rd graders and mandatory for 4th and 5th graders. All projects need to follow the Scientific Method as outlined in the informational packet and PowerPoint. Projects are due on or before January 29th for participating 3rd graders and 5th graders.  Watch an informational powerpoint about all aspects of the Science Fair.
